The European Foundation for Innovation organizes in the framework of the HIBA project within the INTERREG POCTEP initiative -Spain-Portugal- in the Rectorate of the University of Cordoba, the International Congress of Artificial Intelligence applied to the agri-food chain "Smart AgrIfood from the Farm to the Table". This event is part of a network of 20 satellite events with the aim of holding a Global Smartagrifood'23 meeting at the annual meeting of the sector, and is born with a vocation of continuity to be the benchmark in Artificial Intelligence applied to the world Food and the world Agro in Europe in a cross-border initiative of INTERREG-POCTEP Spain-Portugal. Cordoba has a great relevance in this field thanks to the Higher Polytechnic School, the Faculties of Veterinary Medicine, the Higher Technical School of Agronomic Engineering, the Maimonides Biomedical Research Centre, the Chairs of Nutrition and the growing development of the catering industry. In addition, the event seeks to stimulate and promote the development of entrepreneurship and innovation in the business sector of the agri-food chain, in collaboration with entities from all over the region.

This event seeks to boost the productive economy, and especially in the digital transformation of the agri-food chain, through the use of artificial intelligence, in line with the European strategy from Farm to Fork. It also seeks to be a benchmark in Spain in innovation by promoting entrepreneurship and startups in the emerging field of the new digital economy, especially in the application of artificial intelligence. The aim is to create an ecosystem in Cordoba that will last and create wealth in the region by supporting innovation, entrepreneurs and startups related to the agricultural, livestock, fishing and catering sectors, with the support of emerging technologies.
